Marcor holds a Master of Science in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Mathematics minor) from Brigham Young University. He has written over 700 forensic reports and testified in numerous cases in deposition and trial — including nine depositions in the past four years — at the federal and state level, in front of juries, regulatory commissions, and arbitration panels.

The practice serves insurance carriers, plaintiff and defense counsel, property owners, and public utilities across the United States. Engagements typically begin with site inspection and end with credible courtroom testimony — every step documented to the standard that holds up under rigorous cross-examination.

Forensic engineers are retained when a structural question becomes a legal one.

MarcorSEN is engaged by counsel, carriers, and owners — typically when a structural failure, defect, or weather event has crossed the line from a maintenance question into a claim, a dispute, or active litigation.

/01

Attorneys

Plaintiff and defense counsel in construction-defect, insurance-coverage, premises-liability, and CPUC proceedings. Marcor authors the report, sits for deposition, and testifies at trial — in federal court, state court, juries, arbitration panels, and regulatory commissions.

/02

Insurance Carriers

Property and casualty carriers needing causation analysis on first-party and third-party claims — wind, hail, hurricane, flood, fire, and construction-defect losses. Reports are written to survive bad-faith and coverage-counsel scrutiny.

/03

Building & Utility Owners

Owners, HOAs, public utilities, and asset managers needing an independent engineering opinion on structural adequacy, continued-use suitability, code compliance, or repair-versus-replacement decisions on damaged or aging infrastructure.

The three lenses applied to every investigation.

/01

Natural Disaster Building Impact

Marcor has studied the impact of hurricanes, tornadoes, vibrations, floods, hail, and high winds on roofing, framing, and foundation damages — across residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and other infrastructure.

/02

Failure Causation

Marcor provides insight into the causation of building failure — whether soil, moisture, lack of maintenance, or standards of construction — and the chain of events that led from precipitating cause to observed damage.

/03

Adherence to Building Codes

Marcor studies whether a building failure has resulted from a lack of adherence to building codes — applying the IBC, state amendments, and historical code editions to determine compliance at the time of construction.

Interviewed on forensic structural engineering and expert testimony.

In a podcast interview, Marcor discussed forensic structural engineering practice and the role of the expert witness in modern litigation — how investigations are scoped, how reports are written to survive cross-examination, and what attorneys should look for in a retainable engineer.

What attorneys say after the verdict comes in.
